 note = {This study is based on a survey of the knowledge of the natural environment of early childhood education majors in college, and questionnaires given to nursery schools ｏｎ the kind of environmental education they provide for children. The　results　of the　nursery　school questionnaires showed that the schools carry out field activities for children in earnest and that the children enjoy these activities; however, the ability of the nursery school teachers to educate the students was limited by their lack of first-hand field knowledge of plants and animals. The results of the survey of the early childhood education college majors concluded that field work iｓinvaluable education if the students are to gain an understanding of the natural environment. Both the survey and questionnaires indicate that environｍental education centered around field work is an effective way to give current and future nursery school teachers ａ better understanding of nature and allow them to see things from the viewpoint of the natural environment., 論文},
